POA BOD Meeting Minutes May 17, 2007
Hairy Horse Show: The BOD discussed how successful the Hairy Horse Show was, everyone that came had a great time and we had people from Mona who want to know when the next one is- thanks to all that participated and helped in any way.
First B&P Show June 2nd: We are also gearing up for the first real show of the summer down in Santaquin, Saturday June 2nd. The show starts at 8 am- we hope to see you all there. The BOD assignments for the shows are as follows:
Halter to Showmanship: Susan Munson
Showmanship to English: Scott Woodward
English: Jordan Gardner
Bareback Eq. to Trail: Cheryl Lady
Trail: Cecil Loftin
Speed: Megan Dawson
The BOD will be in charge of these events but we ask that all members be willing to pitch in and help so our shows run smoothly. Thanks! These assignments will be the same for the Classic and the Promo as well- remember that the Utah club is in charge of these things so that we can earn money for the club in lieu of the Regional.
Cecil is in charge of the first show and he worked with Ross to write up a judges contract. The first show judge is Karen Carson. The BOD discussed whether or not trail should be judged by the same judge in the arena or if the trail course should be run concurrently with the show and judged by another judge, to speed up the process. It was voted to have a separate judge for the trail class to keep the show running smoothly.
Susan Barrington will be drawing up the jump patterns, Cecil will be creating the trail patterns and the judge will be in charge of Showmanship, Equitation and reining patterns.
Measuring: It was decided that measuring will be done for ponies without a PHC at the first and last shows (unless a pony doesn’t show in the first show, then it will be measured at whatever show it first shows in) and there will be separate measurements for the Futurities and the Classic and Promo. Ross, Craig and Jordan will be doing the measuring.
Awards: Cheryl is in charge of getting ribbons for the first show, the August show will have school and horse supplies as the awards and we are looking into trophies for the September show. Mindy Rose is in charge of the leadline awards.
Stacy Ercanbrack will be printing up certificates for the halter classes and there will be stickers and papers to track your placings as well.
Membership INFO: If you have not yet paid your membership dues, please do so as soon as possible so we can have a current and accurate list of who is in the club.
Also, if you have entries for the POA Sale- send those over to Mike as soon as possible as well.
